Hand-drawn graphics library Rough.js has new fill styles
- matchbok 8y agoNice to see the move to TypeScript. Any reasonably-sized library written in just JS gets hairy very quickly. Great library as well!
- abritinthebay 8y ago> Any reasonably-sized library written in just JS gets hairy very quickly. I mean, that's just demonstrably false.
- matchbok 8y agoIt's pretty difficult to integrate any huge JS library without looking at the online documentation at the same time. You don't know what methods exists or what params are allowed. TypeScript solves this. Any reasonably proficient developer will be more productive integrating a TS library than a JS one. Demonstrably.
- abritinthebay 8y agoSaying “itelisense style hints are useful” and “I’m too lazy to read documentation so typings help me” are both perfectly valid. But that’s quite a different claim to the one I responded to
- cptskippy 8y ago> that's just demonstrably false. Then demonstrate? I would genuinely like to see some large well maintained and documented JavaScript libraries that don't rely on some sort of preprocessors or language transformation.
- onion2k 8y agoThree.js
- tazard 8y agojQuery
- abritinthebay 8y agoDo you include Babel in preprocessors? Or webpack? Because if so that would a) limit things considerably and b) be a little misleading
- aero142 8y agoI would love to convert from dot files to roughjs images. There are a lot of tools that come close to bridging this gap, but I can't quite find the combination. Maybe someday I'll write the missing pieces.
- sethrin 8y agoWhy should I use this instead of an SVG fill/filter?
- shihn 8y agoThis is a full graphics library not just a pattern filler. http://roughjs.com/ http://roughjs.com/ It renders to both Canvas and SVG
