I'm struggling to understand what Trump supporters would have to do with city construction, considering the vast majority of US cities are very left-leaning.

- AnimalMuppet 8y agoDC in particular is left-leaning. And, "in recent years" means that it started before Trump. So what's the point of the quoted line? "We hate Trump, and we hate what's happening to DC, so let's link the two"?
- jcadam 8y agoNothing. I stopped reading when I got to that statement. It's sad that that the author felt compelled to insert his personal feelings about an administration that hasn't yet reached its second anniversary into an article about long-term economic trends.
- rdtsc 8y agoIt's like they have to mention Trump to get the article approved for publication. It's like in a communist country, you could be writing about interior design but you better stick " glory to the people's party!" in there to make sure censors approve it quickly.
- pnathan 8y agoDC overwhelmingly voted for HRC. I think it was something crazy like 98%.
