I agree, it feels like most posting on the internet is just screaming into the void. There's no meaning behind it, no interactions to come of it. I'll never talk to the other commenters again or know anything about them. They could be bots for all I know, but the worst part is that it wouldn't even matter if they were bots because the interactions wouldn't be any different. This [1] Reddit thread filled almost entirely by a single guy commenting to himself is the best illustration of this that I've found so far.
