Thanks to TruffleRuby, Ruby is about to become an order of magnitude faster
- olliej 8y agoIs there a non-video link?
- mbrookes 8y agoA few seconds of "research" (despite no interest in the subject): https://speakerdeck.com/eregon/parallel-and-thread-safe-ruby-at-high-speed-with-truffleruby?slide=1 https://speakerdeck.com/eregon/parallel-and-thread-safe-ruby...
- ksec 8y agoI had this link for a few days, and for some reason my Internet connection could not load it fast enough. It was always buffering. Really wish the slides are uploaded to Speakerdeck soon.
- igouy 8y agoI wonder what programs and what version of TruffleRuby are compared on Slide 12 ? https://speakerdeck.com/eregon/parallel-and-thread-safe-ruby-at-high-speed-with-truffleruby?slide=12 https://speakerdeck.com/eregon/parallel-and-thread-safe-ruby... https://benchmarksgame-team.pages.debian.net/benchmarksgame/faster/yarv-truffle.html https://benchmarksgame-team.pages.debian.net/benchmarksgame/... Slide 12 seems mis-labelled: these are not from The Computer Language Benchmarks Game (richards, red-black, neural-net, matrix-multiply, delta blue), and these are missing (reverse complement, regex redux, knucleotide, fasta).
- eregon 8y agoRight, I should just rename it to "Classic benchmarks", since it's also from other sources.
- rurban 8y agoAnd thanks to Oracle nobody will use it.
