That's really what I hope the future is.
I'm shocked Google hasn't tripled their efforts to make the chromebook a code editor masterpiece. You'd think they'd have spearheaded it themselves.
Now I'm keeping my eyes on Microsoft bringing arm64 hardware in the game. 20+hr battery life + wifi means I could just work wherever I want during the day and then go home at night and charge. Adventure coding, EVERY DAY! That'd be so awesome.
- tootie 8y agoWhat would it take to run Electron apps on a Chromebook? Just gimme VS Code and I'm good to go.
- pjmlp 8y agoThe OS is already juggling browser processes, no need to plague it with extra browser runtimes, that is what PWAs are for.
- yjftsjthsd-h 8y agoIt would be a PWA; rather than running the web app on electron chromium, run on Chrome.

- pjmlp 8y agoI don't miss the days of time-sharing and X-Windows sessions using a dumb terminal. Everything old is new again, just with pretty colours.
