There’s also a state north of Mexico called New Mexico.
- labster 8y agoThat state was named in the 1500s by Spanish explorers. If it was a political name at all, it was probably in reference to Aztlan and Mexican politics.
- rspeer 8y agoThere's a province of Indonesia named Papua, on the island of New Guinea, bordering the country Papua New Guinea. I have no idea what the inhabitants think about this or if anyone even cares, but it sounds quite confusing.
