You can hide Notification Center (and notifications altogether) with removing it from autolaunch: launchctl unload -w /System/Library/LaunchAgents/com.apple.

launchctl unload -w /System/Library/LaunchAgents/com.apple.notificationcenterui.plist 2> /dev/null
