I see a lot of ML startups on a daily basis, and most of this rings true. Software 1.0 is for accomplishing tasks by going from need -> logic -> solution. Software 2.0 is translating human intuition into machine code directly through advances in machine learning. How well someone’s dataset has been labeled will determine how well a “software 2.0” program will work, since that’s where where the human intuition lies.
