I appreciate the work a lot of people put into this proposal but I'm actually glad it isn't moving forward. I don't think there's an example of a graphics API which is really good across a wide range of use cases from beginners to demanding professional use and I'm not sure it's good for the language to standardize on something that say only solves the beginner use case. This is really an area best left to libraries outside the core language standard currently I think.
