You sound burnt-out. I don't think the problem is the field, I think it's you. Take a year off. If you can't afford a year without working, find some other job in a completely different field, even if it pays much less. Let technology stop being a daily grind and more of an enjoyable hobby again. You can't force the magic to come back, but if you leave it alone, it will probably do so all by itself.
