Do you really think Anthony Bourdain wanted to die and hurt the people who care about him? Suicide is what people do when they simply cannot go on any longer - this says nothing about whether they wish they could keep going or not.
- ShabbosGoy 8y agoI always thought of the act of suicide as making a statement. It really is the highest and ultimate statement one can make about their life and circumstances. It’s more than just giving up and not being able to go on any longer. The act itself has a lot of symbolic meaning.
- SAI_Peregrinus 8y agoAs someone who's tried, that's bullshit. It was about escaping the unbearable pain. That's all it was: running away from an agony so extreme it encompassed every aspect of existence.
