- sleepychu 8y agoDid he get some follow up from the author of the changes?
- proaralyst 8y agoI think that's here: https://lkml.org/lkml/2018/6/6/88 https://lkml.org/lkml/2018/6/6/88
- taneq 8y agoWell he did start the rant with "I have no problem with the code, it's just the rationale that I disagree with." And from what I've seen, Linus is nothing if not pragmatic. Good code is good code regardless of the rationale.
- tonyedgecombe 8y agoWhich shows how pointless the rant was.
- emerged 8y agoI have no problem with the rant, just question its emotional source (presumably negative emotion from other areas of his personal life)
- klagermkii 8y agoIf you have invested 20+ years of your life into a particular project, and you have someone doing something that you consider potentially harmful to it, could that not be enough to react angrily? I don't see why it would need to be negative emotion sourced from another area of his life that is leaking out here. You presumably have to be pretty emotionally invested in something to work on it that long as a hobby and only later as a job.
