Its like China and the USA want to swap places. Or the US is trying to reduce its dependence on China just like China is trying to reduce its dependence on the US. IMHO, it's not good for a country to be all manufacturing or all "innovation" and "services." It was a mistake for the US to let its manufacturing sector wither to the degree it did. It's better to strike a balance, especially when your trading partners have drastic political and ideological differences and thus cannot be considered reliable.
