Maybe someone from FB can chime in and prove whether this is true but wouldn't FB take a copy of ANY data that is made public for any portion of time? So it may have been public for a day but ultimately that data is now stored and available for 3rd parties to leverage. This is exactly what something like Archive.org would do.
