I completely agree.
There are many English people who retired in Brittany and more generally in the west part of France as well in Dordogne.
In my village we can even hear the BBC on radio, and in some place receive English TV (Dinard, Saint-Malo).
A good compromise would be to work in Rennes (insane amount of developer jobs) and spend time on the coast on week-end or in Paris (2 hours duration and sometime less).
