I definitely recommend learning C++ and Qt. At first, I was quite afraid of learning C++, it's supposed to be a difficult language, without all the niceties of python, javascript, php and the like. But actually Qt really adds a great abstraction layer that makes coding in C++ as enjoyable as Java, for example. Easy string manipulation, easy iterators, the signal/slot stuff is awesome, and the community is great. Yes, HTML5 is here, but there is still a lot of stuff that you can't do with HTML/CSS/javascript. So my advice is: go for it. You won't regret.
