- saagarjha 8y agoThey explicitly answered this exact question with a resounding “No.”
- saudioger 8y agoWhich means they aren't doing it now, not that they aren't doing it ever. Apple publicly derided phones with large screens for years and then released their own.
- jonhendry18 8y ago"A Stocks app as an OS-level feature feels pretty darn close." A Stocks app is trivial. There's been a Stocks Dashboard widget type thing for years and years. Merging the OSes would mean revamping the macOS UI to be usable with touch screens, removing or drastically changing file access, etc.
- saudioger 8y agoThey depreciated Open GL and built Metal 2 for macOS, differentiating touch and mouse input screens from each other and file access are trivial by comparison. It's not like iOS doesn't have a file system, they just don't allow you to access it.
