Isn’t the same true of GitHub itself? I can’t simply clone GitHub’s code and run a fully equivalent competing product with all functionality (eg: GitHub Enterprise) included. So despite GitHub being friendly to open source, they’re far from an open source company themselves. If the openness of money-making products is your measuring stick, you should be as skeptical of GitHub itself.
