- ioquatix 8y agoThere are two proposals on the table to return to such as design: https://bugs.ruby-lang.org/issues/13618 https://bugs.ruby-lang.org/issues/13618 https://bugs.ruby-lang.org/issues/14736 https://bugs.ruby-lang.org/issues/14736 I'm not sure green threads are a great design for primarily concurrent IO. Because they have all the cognitive overhead of threads but it's simply not necessary for primarily cooperative workloads. Unless you have several network cards, IO is going to be serialised at the hardware level.
