Do personality disorders count as mental illness, or are they distinct?
- zeth___ 8y agoHow many angels can dance on the head of a pin? Psychology is fad based, mostly bullshit and still not able to deal with the fact that correlation does not imply causation. So to answer your question: who cares, these people need help.
- xenihn 8y agoWhat if they don't want help?
- collyw 8y agoMost alcoholics don't want help. Doesn't mean they don't need it.
- gowld 8y agoIn psychological science "personality disorders" are a class of so-called "disorders" that other people believe are bad, but that the person with the "disorder" does not believe is bad. It is controversial to claim that someone with a "personality disorder" needs help. A "personality disorder" doesn't necessarily involve anosognosia, nor is it limited to things that cause conflict with other people like borderline or narcissistic personality disorders.
