  Yup. As a contractor, I maintained a home grown pre-WAMP (spec) implementation. Think http://autobahn.ws http://autobahn.ws. I totally didn't get the point. We controlled both the clients and server, so our pre-WAMP was just SOAP style overhead. Meaning useless and confusing. But the gig paid well and I got some much desired NIO & Netty experience.
