With Paddle if I know URL of product in store I know URL of product download. It's trivial to get free download. With FastSpring they make at least some effort to make URL unguessable.
It's not that what FastSpring is a real impediment to piracy (once something is downloaded it's game over anyway), it's more that Paddle's implementation was so clueless I figured probably other parts of their system were similarly bad.
- seanwilson 8y agoUnless I'm missing something, you're meant to integrate a license key unlock into your Paddle app so I don't see how guessing the download URL makes a difference.
- ezekg 8y agoHave you thought of using something different like https://keygen.sh https://keygen.sh that handles licensing and licensed distribution, on top of a payment provider like FastSpring/Paddle? Disclaimer: I’m the founder. :)
