- shkkmo 8y agoWith "on" I believe they are using the common short hand for ascribing blame (as in "It's not on you, it's on me") not claiming that mainstream articles didn't report the death.
- travem 8y agoThe intent of the phrase may have been that the "blame" for this being misreported isn't "on" the mainstream media, not that the story itself wasn't on the mainstream media.
- nebulous1 8y agoOops, I hadn't even considered "on" being interpreted in that sense! As others have suggested, I meant "on" in the sense of "blamable on".
