I'm kinda curious now where those giant datasets will come from now that there's a big push for privacy with things like GDPR preventing some random researcher from just buying data off whatever data mining corp is most relevant to their AI's purpose

- mr_toad 8y agoMany traditional businesses (e.g. banks, insurance) collect customer data internally, and don’t share it with anyone. That’s not likely to change much. For many of these businesses, the customer is other businesses, and privacy rules aren’t even applicable. You won’t hear about these projects outside industry specific publications, if at all.
