I wouldn't hold it against someone either, because that would be incredibly petty. but, you never know, so why not? as long as it's concise and (at least sounds) sincere, only a total jerkwad would hold it against you. (funnily enough, the job I have now is the only one I didn't bother sending thank you emails for, since after weeks of interviewing I got tired of the whole ritual. go figure.)
