Getting a banking permit requires an awful lot of money and you have to go though a lot of bureaucracy to get it, do you also have a problem with that? What if a startup leaked your private data, like Equifax did? would you still feel the same way about this? If the industry would have been able to self regulate, big bad government wouldn't have dropped the hammer on them.
