Exactly. You can't program by "ok, let's learn the syntax, now let's move onto strings, now objects..." you need a project, and then it's 100x easier to learn what you need to know. You'll never know everything, but that wouldn't have happened if you went the other way anyways. Even after a year of iOS programming, I still consider myself a beginner, and I probably always will be. There's nothing wrong with that. :)
