You have to learn to walk before you run. You also need to make profits.
HMD Global (Nokia smartphones) started with low-end phones and is slowly building better and better phones. They sold 10 million smartphones in 2017.
Their first high-level model is promising but far from perfect. It does not matter because they are not going out of business if it flops. Next iteration will be better, one following that will be better yet.
