IMO calling this "Autopilot" was a big marketing misstep-- it should've been called "Advanced cruise control" or something along those lines. "Autopilot" yells "this car can drive itself", which is great marketing, but if your consumers have that idea no matter how much you warn them they'll assume it's probably not that dangerous to take their hands off the wheel and leave the car unchecked for a minute.
