I don't think this post is especially productive and is clearly written out of (understandable) frustration. The author mentions multiple times that he's not resorting to hyperbole but he absolutely is. Just like with most things, there are benefits that come with the downsides. With any tool, we must decide for ourselves if the benefits outweigh the downsides. I don't think the author did a good job of presenting a balanced case here in either direction.
