Spending 2 or 3 months in SF Bay Area

I'm planning to spend 2 or 3 months in SF Bay Area with a tourist visa for knowing the Silicon Valley. - Is this a waste of time? - What are the things to do? Meetups to attend? - Can I easily get a job? (it could even be not in a tech company) - Some recommendation?
