I admire Bruce Eckel for seeing limitations of the language he invested lot of time and effort in (he is the author of Thinking in Java). Many would stick to a field they feel comfortable in, but Bruce had a courage and an open mind to move forward. He actually advocated Ruby and Python during his talks on Java conferences!
