Today's Pascal is called Oberon, which is also designed by Niklaus Wirth. Oberon is a pure structured language* with support for modular and object-oriented programming. In a sense Oberon represents more than 50 years of refinement starting from Algol-60 via Pascal and Modula-2. The language report has shrunk to about 16 A4 pages. I would say that Oberon is about as close as you get to Dijkstra's idea of a humble programming language. Among the compilers I can recommend OBNC (http://miasap.se/obnc http://miasap.se/obnc).
*in a pure structured language each statement sequence is either fully executed or not executed (there are no goto-like statements)
