It's not just big companies, it's the Media that make politicians electable. You won't see the same publicity around Bezos or Gates. Let's say it is a self-serving theater from both sides.

- jononor 8y agoI think the point was more that not all big companies are media, and those are less likely to be called in like this.
- someonewhocar3s 8y agoIt's important to remember that not all companies are equal, transparency can work, aligned incentives can work, etc. It's important to remember the US is a propaganda hellhole - (especially?even?) what you read here on Hackernews is highly unlikely to be honest.
