My use of the library has vastly, vastly increased since the web has enabled our library catalog to get online, to pool many of the libraries in our county into one giant catalog, so that finding and ordering a book (or other media) is simple and fast. SO MUCH of what I want to find is simply not online yet - Google books has a long way to go. WorldCat is great too. I usually start there since it has the best interface, and if the book is only outside of the local system I can consider if it is worth the bother of an ILL.
