As a non-American, I often wonder, “under what conditions would Americans avail themselves of the need to form a militia to ‘take back’ their government?” I honestly find it hard to contrive a scenario of government ill behaviour that might be a trigger, that hasn’t already happened. This is a serious question from an outsider - can anyone paint me a picture in which you realistically expect that citizens would resort to their guns in order to fix their country as per the 2nd amendment? Or have I completely misunderstood the purpose of the 2nd amendment?
