Are there any US carriers that have been confirmed to not share location data with 3rd parties such as LocationSmart? LocationSmart boasts on their website that they can get the location of 95% of the cell phones in the US... how can I be that 5%?
- bitexploder 8y agoTurn your phone off. :) Seriously. There is no other option. Only niche local providers won't share with these types of companies.

- bitexploder 8y agoUS Cellular and Metro PCS maybe? Only two that spring to mind.

- bitexploder 8y agoPhones wake up about every 30 minutes or so when "powered off". Explicitly to report loction and perform background chores. So you are right. Even the removable battery is suspect. A foil/metal lined bag does the trick. Or a chip bag: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.popularmechanics.com/technology/amp13953308/electrician-turned-chip-bag-into-faraday-cage/ https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.popularmechanics.com/techno...
