Disclaimer: I not condoning any lying and misdirection. It's interesting how we seem to tolerate plenty of lying and manipulation from managers, even more CEOs and the ads industry (ads are communication from companies) and even more from politicians. For an unemployed person, lying might be seen as necessary not to end up homeless. For a CEO or a politician perhaps it can be about getting marginally more support or power or money. Again, I'm not condoning it. Yet it seems society is less forgiving with the less fortunate.
