If it's at all profitable to produce a newspaper with more than the bare minimum writers, wouldn't a new paper start up after the last local one dies? What am I missing?
- PeterisP 8y agoIt's profitable while there's a customer base that still (due to tradition, habit, brand name) are willing to pay for an increasingly bad service. The last paper dies when it has "spent" that customer base by motivating them to change these habits, and at that point it won't be profitable for anyone ever again.
