- facetube 8y agoExcept for the fact that you can conceal the source of the cryptocurrency asset, then the recipient can exchange it for clean money. That's textbook money laundering. Can you tell me how much of Wikileaks' donations come straight from international organized crime? No, and I can't either.
- AlexCoventry 8y agoResort to bitcoin for WL donations had nothing to do with money laundering. People were cut off from donating by credit card companies and banks disabling WL accounts under pressure from the State Department. It still wasn't illegal to donate to them, and bitcoin donations can be explained without bringing intent to conceal into it.
