Even if they are completely unfamiliar with HN you have to consider that they have had access to whatever was left of your internet browsing history. Just because they claim to be deleting everything does not mean that they have done it yet. They were able to find your email address, which is easy, but you need to consider the possible extent of their snooping. You need to think about how much of your personal information could be compromised. Hope for the best but prepare for the worst.
