I don't see any lock in: https://noteplan.co/faq/Save%20&%20Sync/How%20your%20notes%20are%20saved/ https://noteplan.co/faq/Save%20&%20Sync/How%20your%20notes%2... I use it and all my notes are in ~/Library/Application Support/co.noteplan/Calendar as text files. I don't think you lose anything if you want to migrate away.
