I feel your pain, I was robbed earlier this week and they took my laptop (among other things). There are two things you can do. 1) Report the serial number and your police case number to the genius bar. If this guy ever goes for service they'll call the cops. This isn't apple's policy but it seems to be an apple store thing. 2) Renters insurance.
