Clarification: a 55" 4k TV is roughly the equivalent number of pixels to 9 standard (not hidpi) laptop screens.
XGA Standard
1024 * 7689 = 7,077,888
4k TV Resolution
3840 2170 = 8,332,800
WXGA Wide
1280 * 800 = 9,216,000
And the computer is a Late 2013 MBP (with full HDMI out)
