I too though XMLterm very cool - and I hope DomTerm can fill its place.
The author of XMLterm (R. Saravanan) more recently developed GraphTerm (https://github.com/mitotic/graphterm https://github.com/mitotic/graphterm) but has not had time to continue work on it.
