In this instance he dictated the card to his assistant who in turn wrote the card/message. This is old school legal professional formatting where the Initials of the assistant followed my grandfather’s name identifying which assistant typed the dictation. He was smart, formal, thoughtful and a great sense of humor. Most of me thinks he did it as one day I would find the humor in it.
