- emmanuel_1234 8y agoBetter: it was never really found that cholesterol in food was correlated with blood cholesterol, it was just a belief. What we are finding today is that it was never really found that high blood cholesterol causes cardio vascular disease.
- AstralStorm 8y agoWell, we do have some decent correlation in this case, but it seems lipids subgroups are more important and then you still need a trigger oxidative stress then thrombotic and immune response to create plaque which then has to grow fragile and finally may cause an infract. (Potentially a heart attack or ischemic stroke.) Note how fragile this chain is yet how metabolic syndrome (with unknown causation) hits all of the above. Note that we haven't shown how and how eating fatty foods (or perhaps just certain fats) changes lipid profile or oxidative stress. With exception of trans fats perhaps. This needs strong interventional studies with long follow-up. Hard to set up.
