I’m not a professional developer but my train of thought is very easily derailed. Closing down the windows on my computer is like an archeological dig, unearthing the strata of tasks I started and forgot about. The solution is to write everything down. I have a Dynalist window permanently open and put thoughts, things people ask me to do and anything else in there. And when I do write code, it takes such concentration that even 10 minutes later I can’t remember how it works. I have to comment almost every line with a narrative as to what’s going on.
