I love GWT. I've been using it for 3+ years. However, I love it because when I write a large enterprise web app, Javascript just doesn't cut it. But, I'm also a C# developer, and so I feel that Java is holding GWT back - as Java bothers me.

Agreed. I'm a Java developer than wishes for C#'s features. There is hope, these guys have the Scala library compiling to "jribble" pseudo-source than then will get parsed by the GWT compiler: http://scalagwt.gogoego.com/ http://scalagwt.gogoego.com/
