I'm not really sure what people want from Facebook at this point - it's clear that Zuckerberg is genuinely trying to respond to critical feedback, but there's no pleasing anyone apparently.
- tripzilch 8y agoIt's reaaaaaaally hard to believe he is genuine when the response looks like this: https://i.imgur.com/PCQOo8N.png https://i.imgur.com/PCQOo8N.png

- jnky 8y agoPeople want Facebook to stop following people, especially those signed out or without an account to begin with, around the internet in a creepy way. How hard can it be really? Is it too much to ask that some company I don't have business with doesn't spy on my web surfing habits? The announcement also reads to me as if the "clearing" doesn't even do what people may expect it to do: > Once we roll out this update, you'll be able to see information about the apps and websites you've interacted with, and you'll be able to clear this information from your account. This sounds to me as if they still keep the information and just don't associate it with your account anymore.
- thunderplot 8y ago> Is it too much to ask that some company I don't have business with doesn't spy on my web surfing habits? But FB does not spy you (but itself), website owners do. FB and other trackers are tools, which all the media happily use, bashing FB at the same time. Wouldn't it be too much to ask THEM to stop spying on us? Just checked: theverge - 10 trackers, arstechnica - 9, wapo - 14 (including fb!), huffpost - 11 (including fb). It's not fixable by fixing Facebook.
- pavs 8y agoTheir hands were forced by law, which is why they implemented this. The law itself was created because of Facebook Actions (being one of the main reasons). You are making it sound like he is doing it because of the goodness of his heart, or to please his user. He literally didn't have any choice.
